Soviet Posters
Original Soviet social and propaganda posters from the 1950's onwards.
Sometimes produced in large print runs, these were distributed around the republics for public display and the promotion & dissemination of Party ideals and themes - Many were originally folded for postal dispersal.Themes of production, labour and success were common in the posters, but many were original in their interpretation of these ideas.
Once reasonably commonplace, many original posters & artwork are now very difficult to obtain, as they have quite rightly began to take their place in the hands of collectors.Export permits for pre 1980's Russian sourced posters can be difficult or near impossible to obtain, as the Russian authorities have recently started to, quite rightly,class them as important cultural artifacts. All Art of Revolution stock is original & UK based - avoiding the need for further documentation & resultant buyers expense.Most larger posters have detail of artist, edition size, publishing house & production date on their lower margins.
Due to age and rarity, few of these posters are A1 condition, with light margin wear & tear being common on the larger pieces- It all adds to their attraction.
